Pavia and its river, the Ticino.

Pavia and its river, the Ticino.

In the following series of images, I photographed my city, that Pavia bathed by the Ticino river and more particularly the neighborhood where I grew up, the Borgo Ticino, with its Covered Bridge, always in the foreground. As per my habit, I try to portray the places dear to me in the moments in which the light enhances even more what I am going to photograph. Ticino, once called the blue river, today, like many other rivers, victim of a drought, never seen before, in these images it appears in all its forms, from the moments in which the shortage of water brings to light that most intimate, never seen before, to the moments in which the heavy rains lead him to invade the streets overcoming the embankments. Be that as it may, we Borghigians love it in all its forms and these images are a tribute to everything it has given us over the years... to the Blue River and its people!

An old photo, dating back to the 70s, when, with the help of a simple rope, we climbed the pylon of the old bridge, and then dived.
